RECITAL PERFORMANCE DAY PROCEDURE ON JUNE 7

Dancers should arrive wearing their costume or skin-tone camisole and full make-up at:

  • 9:00am for the 10:00am show

  • 12:00pm for the 1:00pm show

  • 2:30pm for the 3:30pm show

Dancers performing in two or more shows are expected to remain at the venue between shows. They will be supervised by staff; parents are encouraged to leave the venue after dropping-off their dancer(s) and between performances if they are attending multiple shows.

RECITAL ARRIVAL

Enter through the main doors of Sutton High School (same as dress rehearsal). Check-in with the staff. Dancers should go directly to their designated dressing areas to check in with chaperones. ONE PARENT is requested to quickly settle their dancer(s) with their group and return to the theater lobby. The auditorium doors will open approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of the show.

DURING THE RECITAL

  • Dancers will stay in their assigned room with their class and chaperones throughout the show and will return to the stage for our finale.

  • Parents are asked not to go backstage after dropping off their dancer and especially once the show begins. This is out of respect for those in the audience and the dancers performing.

  • Please do not send any iPads/electronics with your dancers.

  • Each show is approximately 1.5 hours. There is no intermission.

For students performing in more than one show:

  • A bagged lunch prepared by Bushel and Peck of Grafton, is available for pre-purchase through Dance It Up!; DIU staff will deliver the pre-purchased lunches to the dancers in their dressing areas. Please complete the Lunch Order Form for your dancer(s). You may bring lunch/snacks from home, just be sure the food is not messy or could easily be spilled on a costume. Please do not bring nut products. We have students with severe allergies.

  • Dancers should bring a large button up shirt or a Dance It Up! jacket to cover their costume (or camisole) while eating lunch between shows.

RECITAL DISMISSAL

The following classes (Intro to Dance, Ballet/Tap I/II, Hip Hop & Handstands) will be dismissed directly from the stage after the Grand Finale. We ask that one parent/guardian come the front of the stage to greet your child. If your child is in more than one class, they will return to their designated dressing room.

All other classes will return to their dressing areas to gather their belongings and then return to the lobby area. Dancers in the cafeteria dressing area may be meet by one parent after the show. Other guests are asked to stay in the lobby or courtyard.
