Back for 2026! Priority Seating at the Performance. This year's production of Not Just Nutcracker is going to be more fabulous than ever and you can secure the best possible seats for yourself at the show when you register early for auditions! Registration opens on April 1, and the timestamp on your registration form will determine your first come, first seated placement for the show.

Audition details and rehearsal/performance requirements are detailed in the
Not Just Nutcracker information packet. Auditions are open to dancers in kindergarten and up. You do not have to take classes at Dance It Up! to participate in our production, but you must be enrolled in a weekly dance class for all genres of dance you wish to perform in. 

 

Each year, we are excited to present dancers from DIU and the surrounding community, grades kindergarten and up, who perform in our annual holiday tradition,
“Not Just Nutcracker.”

Our annual Not Just Nutcracker holiday production blends the beloved classical Nutcracker ballet with alternate arrangements of Tchaikovsky's music to include our jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, and acro dancers too!
 

Ms. Catherine Rhodes, artistic director, creatively blends her many years of ballet training, her jazz, modern, tap, and musical theatre experience, as well as her design expertise into our energetic and unique productions.

The order in which students are registered to paticipate in the Nutcracker program determines the order in which their family's seats will be assigned for the performance.
(In other words, the timestamp on the registration form will determine your first come, first seated placement for the December show.)
